Built for ourselves first.
01 — Why we built itKeirsdad started as tools we wanted for ourselves, built with the same care as a client build.
The memory tool went furthest. It shows you a text, then hides more of it each round until you can recite the whole thing.
People told us what to fix.
02 — What we foundWe posted the memory tool to r/memorization. People used it and reported what was wrong with it.
Two problems came back. The bottom bar, with its previous level, retry and next level buttons, covered the last lines of the text. And every line was fixed at five words. We rebuilt the tool to answer both, and the rebuild also lets you store several texts.
Two problems to solve.
03 — The problems- 01Rereading a speech or a poem does not get it into your memory.
- 02Productivity apps want an account and your data before they do anything.
Two problems. Two answers.
- 01Hide more of the text each round.Memorize Text shows the whole text, then hides more of it each round until you can recite it. Retry a level or move on when you are ready, with the controls clear of the words. Store several texts and switch between them: a speech, a poem, an essay.
- 02Offline first, no account.Every tool works offline, with your data kept in your browser. There is no account to create, and each tool installs as a web app on a phone or a laptop. Sync across devices is optional, at £20 a year, VAT included, with a 30-day free trial. Without it, your data stays in your browser.
